If you are planning to visit U.A.E or have you ever visited the country, you will notice that Hummus is the most popular recipe across the U.A.E. The dish is very popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean countries.
There are different kinds of hummus in the world. Basically, Hummus is mashed chickpeas blended with lemon juice, garlic, salt and seasoned with some herbs and drizzled with Olive oil.
Here, I am going to share my version of the Tasty Hummus recipe, which you can make at your home.
- Tahini (Optional)
- Lemon juice (Use fresh lemon for better taste)
- Olive Oil
- Ground Cumin and Black Pepper
How to make Hummus
Take the chickpeas in a vessel. Fill the water in the vessel and rinse and drain your chickpeas. Cook it till it softens and loosen up the skins.
Take Tahini and lemon juice and run the food processor. Whirl and whip to make a thicker paste.
Mix the chickpeas and tahini (tahini is optional but I recommend it for great taste) with the use of a mixer.
Once your Hummus is ready to drizzle it with olive oil, salt, cumin, and black pepper. People top it with many ingredients for better taste. It’s up to you if you want to use additional toppings.
Serve it with special bread, toast or Rotis.
How to Eat Hummus
Hummus can be used as a spread, in wraps or can be eaten with salad or sandwiches as an additional spread.
