Choosing food to eat after workout based on the intensity is as much important as much what to eat. If you have just warm-up session then you don’t need to eat heavy food and just light food with full of nutritious will be right thing to do. Below is the guide on food to eat after workout based on the intensity of your workout as per my experience.
Warm-up / Yoga Session:
If you have just warm-up session with light exercise, you can have light foods like fruits or fruit juice or drinks.
List of food you can have:
- Lemon Juice, orange juice or other fruit juice
- Nuts or dried fruits.
Gym Exercise:
If you go to gym and heavy exercise then you need to eat filling food which contain so much amount of proteins, carbs, fat etc.
List of food you can have:
- Full meal like curry, chicken, whole grain or brown bread
- Pasta
- Salmon
- Rice with curry or Greek yogurt
- Fish and chips
Cardio:
After running exercise or cardio you can eat breakfast or not so heavy meal.
List of food you can have:
- Protein Bar
- Oatmeal
- Eggs
- Chocolate milk or Soy milk
